STRATEGIC PLANNING RETREATS (for closely-held companies)

We have been called on to develop strategic plans to help revitalize a management team, workforce, or stakeholders in an organization to put them on a renewed path toward achieving greater success.

From small business owners to entrepreneurial teams and from non-profit boards to community organizations, we've been there ... and can help you develop SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE plans that focus you or your team, synergize your stakeholders, and create breakthrough gains in productivity and profitability.

Process and Deliverables:
We start by initially helping you to determine your goals and objectives and your budget. Once these are established, we discuss what tools (e.g., assessments, surveys, etc.) we will use and then determine logistics, (e.g., an on-site retreat or an offsite retreat in a secluded, peaceful location). We coordinate the logistics, facilitate the retreat, develop post-retreat action plans and follow up with participants to provide accountability to the execution of the intended objectives.

BUSINESS PLANS (for startups and expansion companies)

We have written over 100 business plans to raise funds for new ventures, finance business expansions, introduce new products/services into the marketplace, or and bring more intelligence to the business planning process. Our plans have ranged from one-page simple buiness plans to comprehensive, professional-quality business plans. They are put together using our access, knowledge, and specialized:

So, what makes us and our plans different from other business consultants?

First, we know emerging business. We know small business. We know middle-market business. And, we know non-profit business. Most business planners focus on the newer industries, especially the hot-growth areas of technology, but do they understand business? We don’t just focus on the newest technologies because our experience is with entrepreneurial business in many industries.

Second, we use proprietary materials developed from years of experience to make sure your plan is as comprehensive as possible. Whether it's a one-page plan or a thirty-page plan, we know how to develop the plan so it helps reach your objectives.

Third, we bring creativity and credibility to the plan. We don’t churn out hundreds of business plans a year that lack passion, focus, and most importantly, feasibility. We only have time to write a few exceptional plans. Lender and client rave about our plans!

Fourth, we understand the challenges in planning because we have been there. We know how to raise capital for startup and expanding businesses. And, we understand the needs for accountability by established businesses for simple plans that facilitate individual and team accountability.

Process and Deliverables: These assignments take anywhere from 2 hours to 12 weeks, depending upon the type of plan and preparedness of the client.

We assist in developing the business plan including pro forma financial model, marketing strategy/plan and your funding strategy. Our plans are either one page plans for the business owner seeking clarity and guidance in business management or improvement. Iinvestor-prepared plans range between 20 and 25 pages including financials. Plans for SBA loans range from 7 to 20 pages depending upon maturity of the business.

INTERIM COO SERVICES (limited availability)

We have provided part-time, short-term interim management of critically important functions. When there is a time-defined need, and no internal staff to implement a solution, interim management is our proven and highly effective solution. We are typically called on in this capacity either to provide project management when staff resources are lean or to serve as a Chief Operating Officer to strategically and tactically grow or turnaround the business.

Process and Deliverable: Assignments are customized on a case-by-case basis and as time and staff is available.

BUSINESS ASSESSMENTS (limited availability)

A Business Assessment is an analysis and review of the health of your company. Similar to the diagnostic tests performed on your body during a physical exam, business problems can be obvious or obscured from view of management. Our role is to bring an outside perspective and provide recommendations before larger problems arise. Problems we have diagnosed and helped repair include: falling profits, poor cash flow, high staff turnover, customer complaints, and ineffective marketing efforts.

Whether or not you feel your company has problems, identifying if something is wrong and if so, pinpoint the problem before you can correct it. Only a thorough diagnostic review, like our Business Assessment, can accurately determine the health of your business.

Process and Deliverables:
We will consider the current status of your company through financial statement analysis, review of your marketing tools and tactics, industry attractiveness analysis, and appraisal of the business atmosphere. The result is an oral report of our findings including strengths and weaknesses of the business, and recommendations to improve the vitality of your company.
